The Society is proud to announce that Prof. Victor A. Obajuluwa will be delivering the maiden Christopher Ajao Lecture at the 53rd Annual Scientific Conference and General Meeting of the Society scheduled to take place from the 29th of October to the 2nd of November 2013 in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State. The lecture titled:"UNITY, THE COMPASS AND PATHFINDER TO THE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF PHYSIOTHERAPY IN NIGERIA IN THE 21ST CENTURY" will be delivered at the opening ceremony of the event on the 31st of October,2013.

Prof Obajuluwa is an erudite scholar amongst nigerian physiotherapists in diaspora. He obtained his BSc, PhD, in Physiotherapy, and Exs. Physiol. from the University of Ibadan 1978 and 1985 repectively. He worked from 1983-1990 and from 1997-1999 as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Physical Therapy at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, where he became the Chairman and Coord. of the Baccalaureate and Graduate Programs at various times. He was also at various times the Chairman of the football team of the Faculty of Health Sciences (now College of Med) of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He served meritoriously as a Council Member of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy and was the Editor-in-Chief and Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy for several years.


He worked from 1990-1995 in Saudi Arabia as the Director of Exercise Physiol Program, General Presidency of Youth Welfare Sports Medicine Hospital (GPYW-SMH), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was the Director for Sport’s Medicine Research and Physiological evaluations of all Saudi elite and non-elite athletes.  He ran a successful weight-reduction Clinic for five years at the Sports Medicine Hospital, Riyadh where he worked very closely with world-renowned Cardiologist, Prof. Andrew Chukwuemeka and helped many Cardiovascular patients. Professor Obajuluwa has several peer-reviewed, highly-rated professional research publications to his credit.He joined the Ivy Tech Physical Therapy faculty in 1999. He is presently a full-time Professor and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) with the faculty. Prof. Obajuluwa has proctored many Physical Therapy Professionals for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree for Universities like Rocky Mountain and Creighton, USA. Prof. Obajuluwa is the President and CEO, Divine Grace Medical Rehabilitation and Nursing Services PLC.
 

Prof. Obajuluwa’s membership of Professional Organizations include: NSP, 1980-present; Saudi Arabia Sports Medicine, and Medical Advisory Committee, Saudi Arabia Olympic Association 1990-1995; American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), 2007-present. Dr. Obajuluwa is an ordained Deacon and member of his Church Parish Governing Council, the Household Of Faith, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lansing, Illinois, USA. He is presently the Chairman of the Elders Group in his Church.He is happily married to Mercy Abike, his lovely wife, of 33 years with whom he has 4 children: Michael, 32, PTA, BSc.IT, MD, Pritzker School of Medicine, University of Chicago; and Resident Doctor at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Dr. Obajuluwa's hobbies include fishing, reading, writing and stage acting. He is the Author of the widely acclaimed novel: Dinner with Demons (Illusion of Rainbows), published (2010) by Dorrance Pub. Co, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
