The Kano State Chapter of Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) has attended public hearing on the regulation of private health institutions in the State at the Kano State House of Assembly.

The hearing was prompted by the alarming rate of gymnasiums and Clinics being opened by quacks as well as other unsavoury health practices in the State.

The state House of Assembly therefore organized this public hearing so as to have first hand information on who is supposed to regulate private health institutions in the state. (This includes private hospitals, private physiotherapy clinics, diagnostic centres etc).

NSP Kano state presented a memo stating clearly that any centre that offers any form of physiotherapy services should be manned by a licensed physiotherapist and that they should be regulated by the physiotherapy regulatory body which is the MRTB.
